  • Wellness Officer

Philip Rockson is a Ph.D. student in Agricultural and Biological Systems Engineering at Iowa State University, with research focuses on regenerative agricultural systems—specifically, how perennial groundcovers, annual cover crops, and manure management practices affect nitrate leaching, soil erosion, and crop productivity. His work combines data science, engineering, and agronomy to design innovative solutions for soil and water conservation. As the 2025–2026 GPSS Wellness Officer, Philip is dedicated to enhancing graduate student well-being by promoting mental health resources, organizing wellness events, and fostering a supportive community. Outside of academia, Philip enjoys community volunteering, exploring tech innovations, and exploring new ways to merge engineering with agricultural innovation.
